Blue-bellied Roller
Found in West Africa and a distant relative to the hornbills, they are often found along the forest edge, sitting on exposed branches searching for bugs, small reptiles, or small mammals.
A cavity nester, they lay 3-4 eggs and the chicks fledge at about 4weeks of age.
Luzon Bleeding Heart Dove
Found in the Philippines, their numbers are declining due to habitat destruction and hunting. They are ground dwelling species preferring lightly forested areas, where they forage for seeds. Their nest consists of a loosely formed shallow bowl of sticks where they lay single egg.
