Eats

Opportunistic omnivores, eating beetles, spiders, flies, mealworms, caterpillars, snails, leeches, fruits, seeds, nectar, and even small lizards and frogs.

Lives

Southeast Asia into Nepal, in forests and scrublands. Thrushes like dense, shady thickets and shrubs, often found in secondary forests.

Behavior

Diurnal and live in flocks.

Description

White-Crested Laughing Thrushes have bright white crowns and dark masks around their eyes, with russet-brown bodies. Known for their loud “laughing” calls, these social birds are often heard before they’re seen!
